  • Andrew Johnstone
    Andrew Johnstone DIRECTOR

    Andrew has worked in the commercial and corporate sectors for over 20 years in New Zealand and overseas, gaining experience as a finance manager, financial controller and CFO. Andrew has also managed a variety of commercial businesses and fully understands what being a business owner entails. Andrew is a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants, a member of Advisory Boards NZ and provides hands-on proactive business advisory services to a wide range of commercial clients.

  • Cath Booth
    Cath Booth DIRECTOR

    Cath was Born and bred in Waimate, South Canterbury, where she grew up on a sheep and beef farm. Cath graduated from Canterbury University in 1999 and qualified as a CA in 2001. Over the years Cath has worked in a various roles – including management and financial accounting roles in the private commercial sector. Much of this experience was gained in commercial roles however she now focuses on the Agricultural / Dairy sector.

  • Nicky Coleman
    Nicky Coleman Associate Director

    Nicky has over 10 years’ experience in accounting industry and enjoys the customer relationship side of her position. Nicky and her husband operate their own business in the agricultural sector, providing Nicky with hands on experience and knowledge of the “nuts and bolts” of the challenges of being a business owner. Nicky studied at Lincoln University to obtain a Bachelor of Commerce and Management, and is a Chartered Accountant with the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants.

  • Megan Prue
    Megan Prue Business Advisory Manager

    Megan was born and bred in South Canterbury and with her husband operates a building company in the Waimate District. Megan has been working in the accounting industry for over 14 years and has always relished helping clients answer those difficult questions or issues. Megan completed both a Diploma in Accounting and a Diploma of Business, at the local Aoraki Polytechnic, and now focuses on business ACC issues and all operations management areas.

  • Lucy Fennessy
    Lucy Fennessy Business Advisory Manager

    Lucy grew up on her family farm near Pleasant Point, and has over ten years’ experience within the accounting industry, having done accountancy work in Dunedin and Timaru, as well as in the United Kingdom. Lucy studied at Otago University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, and she qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008.

  • Suzy Herrick
    Suzy Herrick Accountant

    Suzy has had 29 years’ experience in a variety of accounting and commercial industries in a variety of roles in Administration and Accounting.  Suzy has completed a Diploma in Accounting & and Diploma in Business Management and has enjoy working with clients in the farming sector over the last three years. With growing up in a farming community on the West Coast, Suzy is a keen tramper, always looking for the next challenge.

  • Sue McConway
    Sue McConway Accountant

    Originally from Blenheim, Sue moved to Waihaorunga, 35km west of Waimate,  in 2000 with her husband Erin and children, Rachel & Matt, where they own and run a sheep and beef farm. Sue has a Diploma in Rural Secretarial Practice from Lincoln University, and brings vast amount of experience with her, having worked for over 20 years in various chartered accounting firms and small business administration roles.

  • Kim Burtenshaw
    Kim Burtenshaw Accountant

    Kim was born and bred in South Canterbury coming from a farming background, and both her brother and brother-in-law have diversified into dairying, providing Kim with broad understanding of what’s involved in today’s farming practices. Kim has worked in local accounting firms for over 15 years, and enjoys working with a variety of clients and being actively involved in the running of business operations. Kim is Solve’s Banklink and Xero expert.

  • Rowena Maynard
    Rowena Maynard Accountant

    Rowena came to QA with over 12 years’ experience within the accounting industry, where she enjoys dealing with her commercial property and business clients. With a fantastic eye for detail (an important asset to have in this industry) Rowena has also been known to be the team task master when she and fellow accountants have tight deadlines to meet. Don’t let her quiet demeanour fool you – she loves nothing better than a challenge.

  • Natasha Spillane
    Natasha Spillane Accountant

    Natasha joined the Solve team as a graduate at the beginning of 2017. Growing up in the North Island Natasha moved down south to gain her Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance at the University of Otago. With a love for the outdoors Natasha enjoys many outdoor activities in her spare time.

  • Deahna Frank
    Deahna Frank Accountant

    Born and bred in Taranaki, Deahna left school to join the army and moved to Taupo a couple of years later where she found a passion for accounting in 2007. After a few years farming in Canterbury, Deahna and her family decided to move back to Fairlie and now she works remotely from Fairlie, working from home where she can juggle work and looking after her son. Deahna especially enjoys farm accounting and relates well to farming clients given her own experiences.

  • Courtenay Hamel
    Courtenay Hamel Accountant

    Courtenay joined the Solve team having successfully obtained her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Otago in 2014. A local South Cantabrian and ex Roncalli College student she has an obvious focus of “doing things once and doing them right”. Courtenay is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and is currently working towards obtaining her CA.

  • Jim Scott
    Jim Scott Business Support

    Having been raised in rural South Canterbury, Jim has been involved in the accounting industry for over 35 years. During that time Jim has focused primarily on Southland and South Canterbury, and has witnessed and adapted to to the ever changing needs of businesses and business owners, and even today particularly enjoys dealing with clients. Jim has a great knowledge and understanding of the needs of local businesses, both rural and urban.

  • Joanna van Sprang
    Joanna van Sprang Business Support

    Joanna joined Solve as a Business Support Officer, having worked with many of the Solve team previously. Her administrative role includes co-ordinating statutory requirements for companies and trusts, preparing monthly billing, debtor control, and general administration. Joanna has many years of administrative experience in a wide range of industries, including food manufacturing and recruitment.

  • Laura Yates
    Laura Yates Business Support

    Laura was born and bred in South Canterbury. After attending Roncalli College she trained to be a Beauty Therapist and worked in the industry for four years. Laura joined the Solve Team as a Receptionist at the start of 2017 and will work towards completing some accounting papers.
